How did the Egyptians get all of their gold?

There were three main avenues, mining, tribute, and plunder. It is likely that most of their gold was accumulated through war (plunder) and through getting tribute from dominated regions. Gold was believed to be “the skin of the gods” and highly valued. Tomb robbery offered a means for poor ancient Egyptians to get some wealth.
