How did the Cheetah become endangered?

The cheetah became endangered because of several reasons. First, its native habitat was increasingly destroyed or taken over by people. Second, people thought little of poaching or shooting cheetahs because they were viewed as such menacing, dangerous creatures in the days before anyone was really aware of animal conservation. Third, the above two factors contributed to a general decline in savanna wildlife, decreasing the populations of the animals on which cheetah prey.
