How did the BP oil spill contribute to air pollution?

    According to the EPA, the PB oil spill increased air pollutants such as volatile organic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, particle pollution, 2-butoxyethanol, and dipropylene glycol monobutyl ether. These pollutants cause cause short terms headaches, nose and throat irritation, and nausea for the people close to the area, and long term cancer and nervous system toxicity.
