The Okavango Delta in Africa is not reported as being very deep at all. As the Okavango River enters Botswanna it only averages about 4 meters deep. Most reports from around the delta place it at about meter, a meter and a half. One account says much of it is six to twelve inches (0.2-0.3 meters). I searched for a while, but there doesn’t seem to be any significant information on how deep the delta gets, mainly because it doesn’t get very deep. The delta is very flat; so when it floods in the rainy season, water simply covers a larger span of area rather than adding to depth (it ranges in area from 6,000 square kilometers to nearly 16,000 square kilometers depending on the season).
