    The deepest lake in the world is Lake Baikal. It is also known as “the blue eye of Siberia.” The maximum depth of Lake Baikal is 5,369 feet. It’s a really fascinating ecosystem, nearly 2/3 of the species found in Lake Baikal exist only there. It is considered one of the most ancient lakes in geological history.
