Soil is described as the living layer of the planet and is creates through a fairly simple process. Soil begins as a rock, which is eroded by wind, water, rain and other processes. This constant process of the erosion of the rock eventually breaks the rock down into small particles that are microscopic in size to visible. Rocks make up almost half of soil. The remaining portions of soil are made up from decayed plants and animals.
