Some species like goats commonly give birth to twins. Deer are known to give birth to twins, especially when food supplies are plentiful. Polar bears also commonly have twins. Dolphins rarely give birth to twins, and if they do, at least one will die.
Most species rarely, if ever, deliver twins. However, certain species such as cats, dogs, sheep and cattle have a much higher rate of multiple births (twins, triplets, etc.). The rate of twins in cattle is between 1 and 4 out of every 100. A particular breed of armadillo delivers twins normally.
