How common are jokulhaups?

Jokulhaups, aka glacial bursts, are not all that common. They are floods created by a volcano erupting underneath a glacier causing massive amounts of water to melt and flow out from under the edges of the glacier. Iceland is the only documented region with jokulhaups, it being the only place to commonly have volcanoes below glacier sheets.
