How common are cities with a “toxic legacy” similar to that of Waukegan, Illinois?

    Pretty common I believe.  A lot of cities have toxic legacies (unfortunately).

    Los Angeles, most polluted city in America (has long been know for its smog and pollution

    Detroit (Auto capital) Long been known for being disgusting

    Cleveland (the Cuyahoga river caught on fire….yes water caught on fire it was so polluted) 

    Chicago (bubbly creek, and everything else involved with the meat packing/industrial history of the city)

    Pittsburgh (the city of steel and soot) 

    These are just to name a few
