Climate affects the processes of weathering, which are natural processes of decay. If the climate of a region is arid, there are likely to be sand dunes, due to aeolian weathering. In cold climates, where there is ice, the process of ice wedging can occur, which is when water seeps into cracks of rocks. When the water expands into ice, the rock begins to break apart.
