Carbon monoxide (CO) is a tasteless, ordorless, colorless gas that in high concentrations (100 ppm or higher) or prolonged exposure is harmful to humans and animals. Carbon monoxide is the product of compustion of organic matter tht does not have enough oxygen supply to generate carbon dioxide (CO2). For example, motor vehicles left running in small, enclosed spaces can cause serious harm or even death to those who inhale it.
