Typically, the best way to determine a tree’s age is to cut it down and count the rings. But without counting it down, it’s a little trickier. One method is chemically analyzing the tree through a process known as radiocarbon dating. This process is used by archaeologists to date ancient artifacts, and can be applied to trees as well.
