Generally, eating healthy foods like fruits and vegetables will make you feel healtheir. If you only eat fast food, you probably wouldn’t have much energy or feel all that healthy. Too much fatty food can cause many health problems, such as heart disease and diabetes. Eating fast food in moderation is fine, but it’s important to maintain a balanced nutritional diet for the best overall health.
environmichael is right that eating healthy foods will make you feel healthier but eating the right types of foods in the right amounts is what is going to keep your body functioning well. At each meal the body needs to fuel up with fruits, veggies, protein, whole grains, and a little healthy oil/fats. Mixing up the kinds of foods you eat in this category is important too because each type of food provides different nutrients. By getting the right amount of lean (and not fatty )protein every day you are helping your muscles grow and maintain their strength. Having good sources of calcium makes your bones strong and helps to ensure that when you are older your bones won’t be brittle and you won’t get arthritis, etc. Healthy fats like olive oil and avocado can actually help to keep you from being fat because they help increase burning of bad fat in the body. Whole grains (and not starchy, white grains) help keep you full longer and are an excellent source of fiber. As for fruits and veggies these provide all kinds of different nutrients which is why it’s important to get a variety of kinds (try to eat all the colors of the rainbow). Spinach is a good source of iron, bananas a good source of potassium, etc. And fruits and veggies keep you full without filling up on lots of empty calories. By eating this way you may not know that you are affecting your health but your organs, muscles, brain, skin, eyes, etc. will benefit greatly from providing your body with the right nutrients.
