Good question, fuentes93. I think the answer is to leave the land alone and let it do its thing. If we leave the land be, it will regrow by itself, and pretty quickly too. Here is a picture of a forest in Costa Rica that was used for agriculture as recently as 40 years ago:
So, we know it is possible for forests to bounce back pretty fast, we just need to give them the space to do it.
