Short of taking steps to mitigate global warming, there’s really not much we can do. Glaciers are controlled by temperatures at such a broad scale as to be out of our control in any practical sense. We really can’t try to artificially cool glaciers to keep them around — the logistics of it are utterly overwhelming and the costs beyond prohibitive. The best we can do is try to reduce emissions, etc, as part of a plan to reduce the effects of global warming and hope we don’t lose all of our glaciers before the Earth stops warming.
