To reduce acid rain, we need to reduce our gas emissions. Humans have released large quantities or many different gases into the atmosphere over time, and the mixture of these gases is one large cause of acid rain. Specifically, acid rain is the result of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxides. These pollutants are released by burning fossil fuels, and two large emitters of greenhouse gasses are factories and cars. In order to reduce acid rain, these emissions would need to be capped or greatly reduced.
