How can we fight rising ocean acidity?

One of the causes of ocean acidity is the increased amount of CO2 that the ocean is being require to absorb. So logically curbing our CO2 emissions would be the best step. As far as active steps to reduce the acidity, I don’t know of any yet proposed but the natural balance in pH is preserved by the release of calcium carbonate, so some how increasing this may serve to help, but the science is shaky at best.
