High schools, in particular, can find ereaders very useful. High school students are lent their traditional books from the school, and are typically forbidden to write in those books anyways. If traditional high school books were substituted for ereaders, the school district could save large amounts of money. The school could purchase the digital copies by commercial use and receive massive discounts compared to the prices they currently pay. I don’t believe that ereaders would be beneficial in post-high school classes because the students are encouraged to take notes within the books that they purchase.
