I’m not sure which phenomenon at the Cape of Good Hope you’re referring to. This region is characterized by sandy soils and coastal cliffs. It is very biodiverse, and some flora and fauna are protected in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Yet, a booming city and oil industry also exist there. An oil refinery has been built, and oil tankers pass by this point in high volume. Anthropogenic effects on the Cape of Good Hope environment could degrade the land and cause loss of species. Similar phenomena are occurring worldwide. There isn’t a clear resolution to human encroachment on natural environments, but the creation of nature reserves and laws which protect environments can help limit negative effects.
