One way would be by introducing the idea of phantom load. Phantom load, also known as vampire power refers to the electricity many gadgets and appliances waste just by being plugged in (even if they’re switched off). If large homeowners are made aware of how much money and energy is wasted in all that space, that they might not even need in the first place, they might be convinced.
