How can our military change their training practices to be better for the environment?

As a matter of fact, our military is cognizant of the benefits of the green movement and has been spurred, both politically and financially, to follow suit.

Some examples of the military’s green improvements include installing solar panels and wind generators on bases to offset the need for conventional fossil fuels, introducing electric cars on bases and phasing out older, more fuel-inefficient SUVs, and implementing solar panels on everything from field tents to troops. Other innovations seek to cut down on the military’s waste, such as bio-degradable bullet casings.

Most of the green improvements being undertaken apply themselves directly to domestic bases, thus these technologies will be integrated into the military’s training processes.
