Nitrogen is often used to increase crop growth, but has been found to have an adverse affect on health. It has been found that increased exposure to nitrogen can cause “respiratory ailments, heart disease and several cancers.” (see URL) In addition to affecting people’s health, it can also affect the environment in a negative way.
