How can food labels get away with vague statements like, “Contains one or more of the following…”?

They can get away with this because of the strength of the corporate food lobby in the US today. The FDA is riddled with corruption, and is unwilling to really crack down on processed food makers. If we knew what was really in some of the foods, we wouldn’t want to eat it. The best things you can do to change this is to challenge the FDA, to let them know what you think. Until labeling improves, try to stick to fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains, and other unprocessed foods.
