How can industrial facilities capture and store greenhouse gas emissions?

There is a process called carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology that captures the carbon dioxide emissions and stores it, helping to reduce air pollution.  This technology is generally integrated into a coal power plant, and CCS plants require 40% more energy to operate.  The carbon is captured and compressed, then stored in a mineral carbonate form.
