There are existing recycling programs in some areas for textile diversion (for various reasons, the EPA does not classify textile recycling as “recycling”). Typically, you want to make sure that the materials are clean and dry. Otherwise, the recycling facility may simply throw it out, which means it would be the same as you throwing it in the trash.
If textiles are of one type of material, like all cotton or all polyester, it is easier to reuse it in textiles. However, mixed or blended fabrics, like you mention in your question, are more likely to be used as “fiberfill” material, in such applications as mattress filling, pillows, stuffed animals, etc.
