Keep the cover on the hot tub when ever it is not is use. This makes a significant difference in energy use. Also, set your tub to only heat at times you are using it. Keeping the temperature lower when not using the hot tub will save a lot of energy. Only drain the hot tub when necessary. This will save a lot of water. Place walls or something to block wind around your hot tub. This will keep heat from being lost when the cover is off.
You can even buy energy efficient hot tubs. These use heating elements that require less energy but will provide you with the same great tub!
