It depends on the kind of berry bush, but in general follow these rules. 1) Be sure to plant your berry bush in an area where it will receive lots of sunlight and in which it has lots of space to grow. Open areas away from buildings or shade are best. If they are given room to thrive, berry bushes will eventually produce more berries on their own. 2) Use a natural and safe fertilizer to ensure maximum root and shoot growth. 3) Prune the bush about once a year in the winter or fall. Remove dead branches, overly clustered branches, and lateral sucker branches. Be sure their is room in the center of the bush for air and light to circulate. Consult a garden book to make sure you use the propper pruning technique.
