Apply ice to your bruise to reduce blood flow to that area, wrap it, maybe apply an Arnika gel to it, and after a couple of days, apply heat and massage the area to initiate the movement of old blood. See the links below for more thorough instructions.
Ice should be places on the bruised area immediately to reduce the amount of small bleeders contributing to the injury. Avoiding painkillers and blood-thunning ingredients also helps by preventing blood clots. Check out the link for more information.
