You can find a local organization that promotes clean water and either donate money or time to their aid. Volunteering is a great way to learn more and to help teach others about water pollution. Just being active in being aware of individual things we do that hurt our water supply.
Individually we can all help by avoiding harsh cleaners like bleach and limiting our use of pesticides and fertilizer. Grow more plants, use less water and take trash and recyclable material to their proper disposal sites. In the second website below there is a list in more detail of what you can do in your everyday life that will help reduce water pollution.
Use eco-friendly dish and clothes washing detergents and make sure they dont have phosphates. Try to conserve water by taking shorter showers and installing low flow water fixtures.
