How can hunting bush meat help save African species?

First of all, bushmeat is an African term referring to the meat derived from a wide variety of wild animals whether they be snails, or elephants.  Bushmeat hunting is done for survival by some African tribes, but unfortunately, it is also done for sport as well.  Sport hunting for bushmeat has led to a near mass extinction of many wild animals, which is unfortunate.  Therefore I would have to say that no, hunting for bushmeat will not help save many African species of wildlife – it has the potential to do the exact opposite.  In many ways, it already has.
