How can electricity be transmitted by laser and microwave?

    The basics are very easy. Electricity can be used to create a laser beam using well-known technology, then at the receiving end there needs to be a photovoltaic or other solar power technology that will convert it back. However, those receivers are currently 40% efficient at best. On the other hand, microwave receivers (called rectifying antennas) were shown to be 90% efficient in lab experiments. Microwave emitters are widely available. The main issue with wireless transmission is higher loss of energy than over wires, because of the two conversions (electricity to electromagnetic waves and back) and dispersion in air.
