I’m not sure about electric cars being charged on the go, but there are charging stations where the driver doesn’t even have to leave the car – the car is charged wirelessly. Electromagnetic induction moves power from a pad in the ground to the car. I’m sure if they set enough of these wireless chargers around a road, a car could be charged on the go.
Regenerative braking! Every time the driver presses on the brakes, the kenetic energy is converted to electricity which recharges the battery.
