How can desertification be reversed?

  1. -1 Votes

Possible solutions to desertification depend on several factors, including regional climate, population, and soil type. The definition of a desertification solution is a process that increases the amount of food that be grown where people live and farm land.

    • Planting grass and trees strengthens soil by protecting against erosion from wind and rain.
    • Better farming practices can avoid overcultivation, basically the overuse of the soil. Crop rotation and the use of fertilizers aid in this process.
    • Irrigation can bring moisture to areas with little water or one experiencing drought.
