Coral produce large amounts of oxygen in the water, far more oxygen than even rainforests. By farming coral, scientists are putting more oxygen fixing organisms into the water which can help the struggling life in the water by providing them with more oxygen. Although the coral doesn’t have a direct effect on the temperature or acidity of the ocean, they are indirectly helping the diversity of the world’s oceans survive.
