How can the cleaner Simple Green clean so well and still be completely non-toxic

The website for simple green claims thier product is Non-toxic, biodegradable, non- hazardous, non-flammable, and non corrosive. Is this a scam site? Is it possible for an effective cleaning product to be all of these things at once?

The site is not a scam and they have been in business for more than 20 years.  There are two product lines – the original which has only one ingredient with an established exposure limit which is undiluted 2-butoxyethanol.  It is non-toxic, biodegradable, non-flammable and has no known hazards associated with it when used as recommended.  It can be used on any washable surface, floors, wwalls, laundry and vehicles.  It can replace most cleaners, detergents, degreasers and laundry pre-soaks.  It removes dirt, grease, oil, pet stains, coffee & juice, lipstick, blood and adhesives.  It was even used in the House of Representatvies Gym to combat MRSA.

The naturals line has all natural ingredients and is quite effective as well.

We don’t need chemicals to clean effectively. Think about it: families have cleaned their homes thoroughly for hundreds of years without the use of many chemicals. White vinegar and elbow grease can go a long way. We’re just so accustomed to getting a quick fix, it seems suspicious when a cleaner doesn’t contain all the elements to break things down immediately.
