How can cities and communities use bike travel to help fight global warming?

Simply by replacing other types of transportation (anything that burns fossil fuels, such as cars and busses) would help fight global warming. People always say you should use public transportation if you want to be green, but if you can ride a bike to your destination then you would be doing even more to combat global warming

To actually fight global warming you need to be involved in carbon sequestration.  Bicycling, at least, doesn’t contribute to it — which is a start.

Cities and suburbs can do more to discourage car use.  One way is to create more bike lanes and safe laws for cyclists.  Better public transit is another way to help eco-friendlier transportation.
