Carbon exists in more than we think. We see it carbonating our soda, ethanol used in gasoline and used to determine half-lives of other elements.
Carbon can be found in numerous different forms and has many uses. Carbon makes up graphite, which can be found in pencils and water filters. It also is the key component of diamonds. Carbon can be found in printer ink, battery cells, paints and rubber products. While carbon has gotten a bad rap for carbon dioxide emissions, the element is found in thousands of things we use everyday and should not always be considered a bad guy.
