The first thing would be to recycle all of the beer cans and bottles and any soda cans. Most bars are now doing so and have a separate container where they place the empty beer bottles.
Another thing bars could do is use real glasses and coasters instead of disposible ones. Yes, this results in more dishwashing (which can be done efficiently with a good dishwasher), but it would significantly reduce their amount of trash. Think of all of the cardboard coasters or napkins that are just pitched after each glass!
These are just a couple of things that bars could do to help the environment.
