What is believed to be the largest stingray is found in freshwater areas near Thailand.  These giant sting rays are about 14 feet long and can get up to 1,000 pounds in weight, making them not only the largest sting ray but the largest fresh water fish in the world.

Although not a sting ray, the manta ray is the largest type of ray in the world.  The largest known manta ray, which live in tropical waters, was about 25 feet across and 5,100 pounds.
