As far as I can tell, the world’s largest batter weighs over 1300 tonnes and is 2,000 square meters bigger than a football field. It is stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska which is the second largest city in the state. It is a rechargeable battery that can provide power to 12,000 people for 7 minutes in the event of a blackout; enough time to get diesel generators running. This was crucial to the city where winter temperatures reach 51c below zero.
