Giant Kangaroos, which vanished 40,000 years ago due to a severe drought, were 10 feet tall and weighed as much as 450 pounds. They were only located in Australia, and were previously thought to have been killed off by ancient Aborigines in the area. Recent evidence, however, suggests that the large marsupials became extinct due to an extended dry season.
