How big of a fish can a pelican eat?

Basically, a pelican can eat anything that will fit down its throat. They are not especially picky when it comes to fish, and will take what is readily available. Larger pelicans can take larger fish. I think a generous maximum estimate is a fish about a foot long with a comparatively thin body. Most of their food is much smaller. I’ve also seen YouTube footage of an especially ballsy pelican attempting to eat a live pigeon.
