They stand two to three feet high at the shoulder when on all fours and can become four to six feet long. They also weight between 200 to 250 pounds depending on gender.
Adult pandas are about five or six feet long and weigh anywhere from 220 to 330 pounds. Males mature in six to seven years and females in four to five years. Males are about 10% larger and 20% heavier than females. Newborn pandas start out very small though, weighing only about four ounces, or about 1/900th the size of its mother.
The giant panda can reach lengths of about 4 to 5 feet and can weigh as much as 300 pounds. They spend about 12 hours a day eating, it takes about 28 pounds of bamboo to satisfy the hunger of the giant panda. Occasionally the giant panda will also consume birds and rodents.
