The Goliath Birdeater is the largest spider in the world.  Despite its name, however, the birdeater does  not eat birds.  Instead its diet consists of small invertebrates such as worms and insects, and up to smaller vertebrates like mice.  Their legspan can be as large as a foot.  The females may live as long as 14 years.

Well, the largest spider from the arthropods class is the tarantula. They are the biggest out of all the Araneae. The Goliath Birdeater Tarantula is the largest in the world. They can be found in South America and are mostly active at night. These creatures can grow one foot long and have fangs that are one inch long. They have weak visions and depend on the vibrations from movements by other creatures.
