How big can sea horses get?

One of the largest seahorse in the world is the Hippocampus abominalis pot-belly seahorse, that can grow up to 35 cm long from head to tail. Do not be confused with a very similar sized species called the Hippocampus ingens.

The largest seahorse species is the Pot Bellied Seahorse.  Very aptly named, is identifiable due to it’s enlarged abdomen, and reaches up to lengths of 35 cm.

The species of seahorse determines its size. Different species have been recorded with a range of 0.6inches to 14inches.
