There are 25 species of chipmunks, so the weight and size of chipmunks varies on the species. They range in size from the smallest chipmunk between 7.2 – 8.5 inches and weighing between 32-50 grams to up to 11 inches long and weighing 125 grams. The Eastern chipmunk is the largest species of chipmunk in southern Canada, and parts of Louisiana and Florida. The smallest species is known as the least chipmunk.
