Black-footed ferrets are about 18-24 inches in length, including at tail of 5-6 inches.  They weigh about 1.5-2.5 lbs. Males are a bit larger than females.

Back-footed ferrets are about 15-20 inches long, not including a 5 inch tail. Their long, slender bodies enable them to crawl through tunnels dug by prairie dogs, the ferret’s main prey.
