How big are the waves where they fish for crab?

Not very, crabs tend to come from estuaries leading to larger bodies of water. I used to go crabbing as a lad at my aunt’s house on kent island in the chesapeake bay, the waves weren’t over a foot usually. Different crabs grow different areas though, I was fishing for blue crab; those on the deadliest catch show on discovery channel deal with 20 foot waves and above at times.
