There are several species of tuna fish. The smallest, such as skipjack, are usually three feet or less. The largest, the northern bluefin, have a wide range of sizes but can reach lengths of over ten feet and weigh over half a ton. The largest ever caught was almost 1,500 pounds! The maximum length for yellowfin and bigeye tuna is six feet; for albacore, four feet.
