Pirahnas usually travel in groups of about 20 fish and have various strategies for hunting and killing their prey. The defining characteristic of piranhas are that often, they don’t even kill their prey first, and begin eating their victims alive, making them extremely dangerous and ferocious. An interesting fact: Adult piranha have been known to eat their own babies.
